The map data tab

Data mapping is required so that you can identity the important data columns in each of your source files, that will be required for your AlphaVAT calculation.

The Map data tab displays all of the source files that you have uploaded. These appear as separate tabs and you will need to review each one so that you can map your column headings and set up the foreign exchange currency conversion requirement if needed.

Map your column headings

Data mapping is required so that you can identity the important data columns in each of your source files, that will be needed for your AlphaVAT calculation.

There are two mandatory data mappings that must be completed for all AlphaVAT calculations in order to produce your VAT Return. There are also optional data mappings that you can choose to assign to your data columns.  Using the optional data mappings will not affect your VAT calculation, but will allow the data to be included in the calculation transaction reports.

The Foreign Exchange (FX) Manager

If your data files contain currency values that are not in pounds sterling (GBP), you can launch the Foreign Exchange manager and set up the currency conversion requirements for each of your data files listed. You should do this before you map your column headings.
